Vicki McLeod is a writer, coach and award-winning entrepreneur. She is the author of four nonfiction books that explore being fully human in a technical world. Her short story, Georgie, was longlisted for the 2020 CBC Nonfiction Prize and she is the winner of the BC-Yukon 2020 Flash Fiction prize for My People Came Down from the Mountains. In 2021, her essay Leave With What You Came With was long listed for the BC-Yukon Creative Nonfiction prize, and All My Love, Alex, a collage of essays, records, and found poetry was shortlisted for Event Magazine’s 2021 Creative Nonfiction prize, receiving second place. A graduate of the 2018 SFU Writers Studio, she has studied with authors Christina Myers, JJ Lee, Aislinn Hunter, and poet Rob Taylor. She is a west coast wild swimmer and leads workshops, writes poetry and personal essays and bakes bread.
